Born in London Juliette’s media career began in her early twenties with BBC local radio. But things might have been very different had she followed an original career plan, (formed at the tender age of eleven!), to be a barrister. That arose from a conversation with her father’s solicitor who convinced her that she had all the necessary qualities to forge a successful career at the Bar. Juliette wholeheartedly shared that sentiment until the age of eighteen when another career change almost took her in the direction of the Church!
At St David’s University College Wales, Juliette studied a range of academic subjects including Theology, Biblical Hebrew, and Classical Greek. After graduating with a degree in History/Church History she was all set to work as a Christian Missionary, until a chance remark from another student pushed her in the direction of the media, and the rest - as they say - is history!
In the years that followed Juliette has worked for some of the world’s leading broadcasters including BBC Radio & Television, Channel 4 Television, Bloomberg Information Television, & Sky News. Her hard work, determination, and efforts have earned her the respect of her peers and of Britain’s ethnic minority communities.
It’s also made her a favourite on the corporate circuit where she has hosted the T-Mobile Business Awards, and co-presented the Start Up Stars Awards, that are sponsored by Sky News, The Daily Express & the banking giant HSBC.
In 2002 her qualities were formally recognised by The European Federation of Black Women Business Owners & HSBC, when she was presented with a special award that marked her achievements in the broadcasting industry.
When she’s not broadcasting Juliette enjoys writing (click here for examples of Juliette’s written journalism), reading (mainly biographies), embroidery, keep fit, and trying anything new that will challenge her both physically, (as long as it doesn’t involve heights!), and intellectually.
