Juliette firmly believes that every individual has a responsibility
to give something back to society. All contributions - no matter how big
or small - can make a difference to somebody’s life, and that’s why Juliette
supports a number of charitable organisations. She enjoys fundraising
because it brings her into contact with a range of people and is often
quite challenging.
In 2003 she starred in a production of “The Vagina Monologues” in Stratford
East London, and helped raise much needed funds for a Women’s Refuge.
It was her first time 'treading the boards' and although it was a nerve
- wracking experience, Juliette isn’t averse to giving it another go…but
only for one of her chosen charities!
“Sometimes it’s difficult persuading people to dig deep into their pockets
and make a contribution, or to simply give up a few minutes of their time
for a particular cause. However once you explain to them why they should
get involved, they really get into it because they can see the difference
their efforts are making. It’s an incredibly rewarding experience and
one that everyone can share.”
In 2006 Juliette was appointed ambassador for The Next Step Foundation.
As part of her responsibilities she works with the chief executives of
some of Britain's leading companies to assess and, where necessary, help
improve their workplace diversity practices. Businesses who commit to
the Foundation's diversity requirements are awarded the prestigious Next
Step Mark.
